L'attuale line-up dei Lindisfarne
annuncia anche un massiccio tour di 60 date nel Regno Unito
I folk proggers Lindisfarne hanno annunciato un enorme tour di 60 date nel Regno Unito che va da aprile fino al tradizionale spettacolo stagionale di fine tour della band all'O2 City Hall di Newcastle il 21 dicembre, e include apparizioni al Tredegar House Folk Festival di Newport, al Weyfest di Guildford e al Lindisfarne Festival.
"La gente continua ad amare i Lindisfarne e mentre questo movimento prosegue noi andiamo avanti", ride Rod Clements, membro fondatore e unico membro originale. "Ogni anno sembra di organizzare più spettacoli di quello precedente e siamo entusiasti di aggiungere l’02 City Hall nostro itinerario nel 2024".
Allo stesso tempo, un nuovo cofanetto di tre dischi, Brand New Year: The Mercury Years 1978-1979, sarà pubblicato dalla Cherry Red Records il 24 maggio. Il cofanetto include tutte le registrazioni della band per Mercury, con 15 tracce inedite su CD.
La formazione 'classica' dei Lindisfarne si riunì nel 1978 dopo che la band si era presa una pausa di due anni e firmò per l'etichetta Mercury, per la quale registrarono il doppio album dal vivo “Magic In The Air”, registrato all'originale spettacolo di reunion al Newcastle City Hall, e due album in studio, “Back And Fourth” del 1978, che generò la hit Run For Home. e il meno riuscito “The New”s del 1979.
Una raccolta di quattro dischi di Alan Hull,
l'antologia di 90 tracce Singing A Song in the Morning Light, che
contiene 77 brani inediti, con diverse dozzine di titoli precedentemente non
documentati, è ora disponibile per Cherry Red Records.
