La nuova ristampa di “Larks Tongues
In Aspic” contiene nuovi remix di Steven Wilson del 2023 e uscirà a ottobre
I King Crimson hanno annunciato che pubblicheranno una nuova edizione di “Larks Tongues In Aspic” per celebrare il 50° anniversario del loro quinto album in studio, rilasciato in origine nel 1973; la pubblicazione avverrà attraverso Panegyric Records il 13 ottobre.
La nuova ristampa arriva in un set di due Blu-ray e due CD, e in edizione in vinile a due LP. Il set Blu-ray e CD contiene nuovissimi mix 2023 in Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround Sound e Hi-Res Stereo di Steven Wilson, nuovi Elemental Mixes di David Singleton, le registrazioni complete di ogni sessione registrata per l'album (tutto questo materiale è stato mixato dalle esibizioni originali ed è presentato su disco per la prima volta in Hi-Res 24/96 stereo), Mix stereo Hi-Res dei master stereo originali e del documentario audio di David Singleton sulla registrazione dell'album “Keep That One, Nick” precedentemente incluso nel cofanetto del 2012. Queste sono le uniche inclusioni ad essere state emesse in precedenza.
I CD includono il mix stereo del 2023 e strumentali dell'album e i mix e le bobine master selezionate. La nuova ristampa si presenta come un'edizione con copertina apribile 2 x contenente i singoli dischi più libretto con note di copertina del biografo dei King Crimson e scrittore Prog Sid Smith, confezionato in un cofanetto rigido.

“Larks Tongues In Aspic” presentava una formazione incredibile dei King Crimson che comprendeva Bill Bruford alla batteria, il compianto John Wetton al basso, il percussionista e batterista Jamie Muir e il violinista David Cross insieme al pilastro Fripp, che è stato spinto a dichiarare: "Questa band è più King Crimson di quanto non sia mai stata. Tutti gli ideali e le aspirazioni originali sono lì: amore rispetto e idee compatibili. È una band magica!"
Fu l'unico album dei King Crimson con Jamie Muir, e un anno dopo l'uscita dell'album - dopo altri due album, “Starless And Bible Black” e “Red” (entrambi pubblicati nel 1974) - Fripp sciolse la band.
